Our STEM Workshop Packages/Prices

  • This introductory session gives students a first-hand look at the world of biotechnology through safe, engaging experiments designed for beginners. Participants work directly with lab materials under instructor guidance while learning the basics of lab safety, data collection, and teamwork. The 90-minute format is fast-paced and perfect for a single-classroom experience.

    • On-Site: $30 per student

    • Mobile (Travel): $35 per student

  • IIn this deeper, two-hour workshop, students explore a full experiment from start to finish, including hands-on testing, guided data collection, and instructor-led analysis. The session is structured to balance active lab work with interactive discussion so participants leave with both knowledge and real skills. It’s an ideal choice for schools seeking a standard, well-rounded lab experience.

    • On-Site: $40 per student

    • Mobile (Travel): $45 per student

  • Advanced Innovation Lab (2 hr 30 min)
This extended 2.5-hour workshop immerses students in advanced lab activities with additional rotations, extended analysis, and direct Q&A with instructors. Participants dive deeper into experimental design and problem-solving, mirroring the type of work done in professional biotech labs. It’s a premium, high-engagement option for schools wanting to maximize student interaction and lab exposure.

    • On-Site: $65 per student

On-Site Field Trip to Our Lab (Philadelphia)

Bring your class to Nafees Innovations, 3675 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 for a 60–120 minute bioprocessing experience led by an experienced industry scientist. Students arrive to a quick orientation, PPE handout, and a clear safety briefing. We cover lab rules, spill response basics, and how to move in a working lab—then dive straight into aseptic technique fundamentals (hand positioning, minimizing contamination, clean zones vs. “dirty” zones) so everyone is confident before touching materials.

Next, learners rotate through compact stations that model the real workflow: media preparation, a yeast growth simulation (to stand in for cell culture), clarification/filtration, and a simple assay readout (e.g., color shift or pH). Each station is tightly guided with stopwatches, measured volumes, and “see-it-now” reactions, while students practice pipetting, timing, observation, and basic data recording. We keep the pace high and the steps concrete so students can explain both what they did and why it matters.

We close with a quick debrief tying steps together—how upstream (growth) connects to downstream (purification)—plus a short Q&A and take-home prompts. All materials, setup, and cleanup are on us. Duration: 60–120 minutes. Max capacity on-site: 24 students (to keep it hands-on). See curriculum options below; we’ll select the best match for your grade level and time block.

Travel Workshops (We Come to You)

Can’t get to us? We’ll bring the mobile lab to your classroom for the same 60–120 minute, high-engagement experience—run by an experienced industry scientist. We provide consumables, PPE, table-top stations, and safety signage; you provide tables, a sink (or water access), and standard outlets. We start with an on-site safety talk, distribute PPE, and train students in aseptic technique adapted to your room (surface sanitizing, tool handling, and pass-the-pipette rules).

Students then move through the same bioprocessing arc: media prep → yeast “cell” growth → clarification/filtration → fast assay readout. We design flows for tight classrooms: staggered starts, clear timers, and job roles (Operator, Recorder, Runner) so every student is active. Visual outcomes (foaming CO₂, color changes, separations) keep learners engaged while reinforcing measurement, precision, and lab communication.

We end with a group wrap-up, a mini data share-out, and classroom leave-behind prompts. Preferred max capacity on campus: 25 students per session (larger groups can be split into back-to-back blocks). Service area: all U.S. states. Advance booking: PA/NY/NJ/MD/DE—please book ≥7 days ahead; all other states—please book ≥30 days ahead for logistics and shipping. We handle setup and cleanup to minimize downtime for your staff.

Virtual Workshops (Live POV Stream)

Coming in January 2026

Join us for a 45-minute live, point-of-view broadcast from our lab, taught by an experienced industry scientist. Students see exactly what we see—measurements, mixing, reaction changes, and quick readouts—through overhead and shoulder cameras. We start with a short safety and aseptic awareness primer for the classroom (even in virtual mode: clean workspace, tool handling, and non-food chemicals stay sealed unless instructed), then run a tight, high-energy demo.

During the session, we mirror the core workflow—media prep, yeast growth simulation, clarification/filtration, assay—and use polls and Q&A to keep students involved. Every booking includes printable data cards and a simple results sheet so classes can capture observations in real time. We close with a short debrief tying steps together and a teacher handoff for follow-up.

Want it fully hands-on? We offer an optional materials list so students can perform selected steps in class as they watch. Supplies can be purchased through Nafees Innovations Resources or sourced locally (yeast, food coloring, salt, coffee filters, etc.—all classroom-safe). We provide a teacher guide, tech check, and captions on request. Max capacity (virtual): unlimited; works for single classes or large assemblies.
