Outdoor STEM Workshops
"We outside"
Designed for movement, exploration, and discovery, these workshops take science outside to show students how STEM lives in the world around them—from the trees to the soil beneath their feet. Each session includes light physical activity to promote wellness alongside hands-on learning.

Description
Designed for movement, exploration, and discovery, these workshops take science outside to show students how STEM lives in the world around them—from the trees to the soil beneath their feet. Each session includes light physical activity to promote wellness alongside hands-on learning.
Examples of Concepts and Projects
Students will engage in outdoor STEM challenges that include physical activity and real-world experiments. Activities may involve building and launching water rockets to explore pressure and force, running relay-style engineering tasks where they assemble simple machines between stations, and competing in measurement games that teach speed, distance, and time. They’ll participate in team-based problem-solving challenges—like building outdoor structures or wind-powered devices—and test water or soil samples at activity hubs using basic science tools. The experience encourages motion, teamwork, and critical thinking, all while reinforcing core STEM concepts through exciting, kinetic learning.
Why It's Exciting?
Youth get to move, build, and experiment—all while learning STEM in a high-energy, hands-on way.
